About the Wood Family

Bill and Valerie Wood, the owners of Eastbay Campground, reserve a special place in their hearts for the Eastbay of Devils Lake. The land was once occupied by Bill’s childhood home and family farm, where he then raised his own family with Val. With a strong connection to the area, they looked to further develop and utilize the vast lands the Woods occupied, and opened Eastbay Campground in 1998 with just 18 seasonal sites. From there, Bill and Val (with a helping hand from their kids) put their heart and soul into the campground, growing to 298 seasonal sites, 13 lodges, overnight tent and RV sites, a stunning event center, and tons of convenient amenities, making Eastbay a place for you to enjoy. They hope to provide the same love and wonderful experiences they’ve had as a family at Eastbay Campground to you, by being a hub for your own family traditions, summer adventures, and connection to nature.
